  • How much would a box of 38 paperback books weigh?

Posted by admin on March 1st, 2010 and filed under paperback books | 1 Comment »

I’m selling my collection of johanna lindsey novels and right now I don’t have a big enough box, but I want to get the books on ebay since I think the seller fees are free today. I suppose I could try holding them and stepping on a scale and then stepping on without it, but I wonder if you can give me a rough estimate?
Do you think if I just put a flat rate of 20 dollars, that that would cover me with packaging and gas and all the other handling fees?

I just weighed 3 books and came out with an average of 10-12 ounces. (Regular size paperbacks). Working with 12 ounces that comes to a few ounces over 27 pounds. Figure 28-29 with packing. You can ship books by media mail which is WAY cheaper through the US Postal Service. You can get shipping estimates here: www.usps.com
