The Book of Lies by Brad Meltzer.
Now available in paperback in bookstores everywhere.
In Chapter Four of the Bible, Cain kills Abel. It is the world’s most famous murder. But the Bible is silent about one key detail: the weapon Cain used to kill his brother. That weapon is still lost to history.
In 1932, Mitchell Siegel was killed by three gunshots to his chest. While mourning, his son dreamed of a bulletproof man and created the world’s greatest hero: Superman. And like Cain’s murder weapon, the gun used in this unsolved murder has never been found.
Until now.

Clever bit of …
Clever bit of promotion. I know Meltzer from his very excellent work on Identity Crisis and with the JLA. Few writers play with DC’s toys as well as Brad Meltzer. The concept of this novel is intriguing, and as soon as I’m gainfully employed again, I’ll have to check it out.

I love it and Brad’s self -effacing sense of humor. Never has a negative review made me want to go out and buy the thing being reviewed, until now. I’m usually a little late on these things, but I’m gonna go out and read both of Brad’s books. Doesn’t hurt that he writes comics, either.
