  • Do you prefer reading hardcover or paperback books?

Posted by admin on February 19th, 2010 and filed under paperback books | 22 Comments »

Personally, I prefer paperback books…hardcover annoys me sometimes. Which do you prefer?

Depends. Hardcover look better, but paperback are lighter to carry. I’ll have to go with hardcover.

Paperbooks – cheaper, portable, not an obvious grab for my money.

It makes no difference to me, if the story is good, that’s all I care about..

Hardcover books are easier to keep pretty. Paperbacks get crinkled covers if you fold the cover back. I must have OCD or something but I like neat looking things….even if I do caty corner the pages….^_^

I prefer the appearance of hard-backs, but I always worry I’ll ruin them. I think paper-backs are easier to enjoy because you don’t worry so much about them being ripped or worn, so essentially you can love them more hahaha. I’m constantly ripping the dust-covers off my Harry Potter Hard-Backs, I feel guilty picking them off the shelves.

I like hardback, but sometimes I can’t afford it, so i buy paperback.

Hardback on amazon.com because it is so cheap, but when I go to Barnes and Noble, i get paperback.

Paperback, I read so many books that if I bought all hardcover I would have no money.

If I wanted to read a book which was only available in hardcover I would try & get it from the library.

Hardcover for books that I really like, that way they stay in better condition. Generally anything that I consider "a classic" or one of my personal favorites books I buy in a nice hardback edition, even if I already have a paperback copy.

I dont mind hardcovers, as long as they dont have the annoying paper that comes off in the cover. I like hardcovers that dont have that. I only buy hardcovers however, if it’s the kind of book I love and want to keep forever. Otherwise, I just get a paperback.

if they are a book I REALLY like (example: Twilight) I buy them in hardcover because I know i will be constantly reading them and want them to last longer and also the pages wont bend

hardcover. they don’t get destroyed so easily. they are more expensive, but I keep all my books and reread them, so I’d definitely say hardcover.
