My favorite authors are John Saul and James Patterson, but I have read most of their books. Any authors you may suggest?

I’ve never read them before. but I enjoy Dean Koontz, try Velocity, strange highways, intensity just to name a few

   If you want dark, you might enjoy Andrew Vacchs (sp?) Burke series, about a soldier of fortune who lives ‘off the grid’ and makes it his business to rescue abused kids and punish the abusers.

   Or the better Thomas Harris novels, like "Red Dragon" and "Silence of the Lambs." (The sequels are crap; don’t waste your time.)
