Hi there! If you're interested, I'm the author of a fantasy/adventure novel called The Other Side of the Gate. It's about a 14 year old boy who is mysteriously spirited away to a strange world where humans have been taken for generations, and he's determined to discover why.

If that sounds both interesting and workable for your assignment, you can find out more about the book on my writer's blog listed below.

Good luck!
References :
http://craigmcurtis.blogspot.com/

I'm telling you right now, if you read "A Thousand Splendid Suns" or "The Kite Runner" (I would go with ATSS) you will love them! Also, they are both VERY good books to do reports on because they both have so much depth and political issues (both set in Afghanistan and the overthrow of the shah, the Soviet invasion, and the Taliban). Teachers will eat that shiz up. No doubt. A Thousand Splendid Suns is probably the best book I've ever read in my life.
References :
Eve Green by Susan Fletcher. It's about a seven-year-old girl whose mother dies. She goes to rural Wales to live with her grandparents, and learns about her father and a few town secrets. It's a very good book, and only about 224 pages.
