Posted by admin on July 4th, 2010 and filed under christian books | 9 Comments »

for a church trip i recently went on, all 1200 of us got a little card that says something we should try to accomplish by next year. my card said i have to fast from television for 40 days, and during times i would usually be watching tv, i should read books that encourage me spiritually. (i am a strong christian)

does anyone have any suggestions for books that i could read? thankks!

How about Left Behind:The Kids. I also suggest Lord of the Rings.

      The Bible.
Anything by Thich Nhat Hahn, who although might be a Buddhist remains a strong spiritual leader and offers amazing guidance that can help reinforce Christian ideals.

look at books by Melody Carlson. the ‘Color Me’ series is great. She also has a series about a girl in a christian band. the first one is called ‘My name is chloe’. she has a great style of writing.

      Mandie series- Lois Gladys Leppard
It’s about an adventerous christian girl. It seems short if you buy each book separately, but you can get them in sets of five, and then they’re a good length. Great read.

Try Kristen D. Randle’s books: "The Only Alien on the Planet," "Slumming" and "Breaking Rank". They’re light, and I’m not sure how much they’d encourage spirituality. Just trashy-fun fiction through a Christian lens.

you should make her read the holy truths that it expells on a dialy basis. this is our only chance to make it into the holy kingdom of heaven.

or a tourist guide to copenhagen.

my favorite psalm excerpt is when jesus meets thor and they battle for ragnorak.
thor hammers him to a cross.

I am currently reading ‘The Shack’ (by WM. Paul Young) and it is interesting. I am pretty sure that it is a Christian book.
