Plan on reading Night Before to my kids, just wondering if anyone knows of any new books that are good.
"Christmas Three." My boss bought one for each of us, hope that isn’t the bonus. The book has three stories, two are great for kids, one is geared toward adults (nothing profane) I think he got them straight from the publisher LuLu Publishing.
I’m looking for a very broad list, nothing specific to one genre. I see these kinds of lists for movies all the time, but I’m having trouble narrowing down a website for new book releases.
Publisher’s Weekly is the source of new books comming out. Check your public library.

Chapter 12 “Intruder”

It must be Victoria, Bella thinks, so she tries to keep quiet so Charlie doesn’t come to help her. She hears a familiar voice – it’s Jacob hanging on to the tree outside her window. Jacob says he’s trying to keep his promise while he swings into her room. She tells him to get out and refuses his apology …
Alright guys its Pop Quiz time!
Today’s Question is:
How can Jacob get away with allowing Bella to guess the secret? Won’t he still get in trouble?

Chapter 3 “The End”

Bella wakes feeling in pain – physically and emotionally – anxious about Edward’s possible thoughts while she slept. When she gets to school, Bella feels anxious about Edward’s “off” behavior. She hopes to get some insight from Alice later in the day. But Alice is nowhere to be found at lunch – apparently she’s with Jasper and they’ve gone away for awhile to Denali where another covenant of “good” vampires live. This makes Bella feel horrible about breaking up the Cullen family …
Pop Quiz Question:
What do you guys think of the Edward-Bella Breakup? Did Edward do the right thing or was he too harsh on Bella, I mean taking away the CD and photos? He must have known this was going to kill her. And Knowing how clumsy Bella is, maybe a phone breakup would have been better, What do you guys think?
Send us your answer in a video response and we’ll use the best one in our next video. Feel free to also leave us a comment with your overall thoughts and reactions to Chapter 3. Thanks for watching!

Anyone ever purchase a new book and find a small (probably one inch by one inch) thing that looks like a gold metallic sticker with the paper backing still on, in between some random page halfway through?
They have a raised pattern on them, and almost remind me of a computer chip, although I don’t think they’re sturdy enough to be that.
Does anyone know what I’m talking about? What’s the purpose of those things and what are they called?
Generally these are termed "loss prevention devices" and they are unpowered circuits that work by receiving and echoing back a radio frequency "ping" from a transmitter in the store where the books are sold. They are deactivated at the checkout when you buy the book. Normally they are used to catch people who are "shoplifting" or trying to leave the store without paying for the book – by setting off an alarm at the entrance or exits where the transmitter is set up.
They have a very simple passive circuit that only works at close range to the transmitter – which is why they don’t set off the detector unless you are very close to them or between the sides of the detector .
I love Janet Evanovich! But I can’t wait forever for new books I need a new series to occupy my time- any suggestions
Try Sarah Stromeyer’s Bubbles series. They are hilarious as well. Bubbles is a hairdresser who manages to find herself embroiled in different mysteries and situations. Nancy Martin is also great with her Blackbird books — there is a hideous dog featured that is a hoot! Also Mary Kay Andrews is great great great!!! You will probably find her in chick lit. She is probably the best of the bunch and my favorite of hers is called Savannah Blues. She is not series though…
According to some our planet is about to change and become something unfamiliar to us all. Some say that a massive star may be coming our way and it may have a profound effect on our planet. Has this happened before? Some say it has and is going to happen again. At this presentation at Brave New Books in Austin, Texas, Lucus presents indications of this coming destroyer star and connects it to the Denver New World Airport.

Which books are new that seem popular for kids?
KIDS-i would say babysitters club, goosebumps, fantasy storys about fairys and magic dust, something kids would actually be interested in sitting there listening to it or reading it.
TEENS–harry potter and Twilight are the most popular, romeo and juliet, macbeth, i really enjoyed eragon
I’ve read Dune, Dune Messiah, The Children of Dune, and The God Emperor of Dune.
As far as I’m concerned Dune ended with the death of Leto II
Is there any incentive to reading the new books?
How do they compare?
Do the characters in the new books have the same depth as those by old Frank?
I’m with you on that one dude. When Frank Herbert died and the Dune saga was left unfinished I automatically selected the first four books as the best in the series.
I read the trilogy by his son (Houses Harko,Artreide, and Corrino) and they were’nt very good as far as my tastes go. specifically because they really didn’t add to the mythos.
The Machine Crusade and the Battle of Corrin meanwhile went against many of the ideas and concepts stated in the Encyclopedia of Dune ( which is non-canon but made with the approval of Frank Herbert ) although I liked the main story and treated them as such: stories of a distant past.
The fifth and sixth novels I really didnt like because the characters in them were so far from the qualities of Muad’Dib that they seemed like a totally different series.
The seventh novel ( published posthumously) dealing with the Honored Matres is more of the same, leaving me unsatisfied upon finishing it. The ending wasn’t elegant enough to compare to the first four books. What I really wanted was more of Paul and Leto, NOT evolved fish speakers and Tleilaxu spawn.
