  • Is there a place online where I can read published books for free?

Posted by admin on February 25th, 2010 and filed under books online | 7 Comments »

I like to read an there are some books that are not in my local Library. I like to read books before I actually own them so I was wondering is there was any way I can read books online.
Ok, I dont read classic books really, I like newer books, so all these classic book sites arent helping.

The whole problem with reading books for free, is that somehow, somebody has to get paid for writing those books. It isn’t something you can dash off on a weekend and make a million bucks at. It takes between one and two years to write a book – often even more.
Books you read in a library have been purchased, and authors get a royalties from them, just as they do from the books you buy in a bookstore.
If you want people to write books, you have to figure out how to keep authors in rent money and food money, and maybe even have enough left over for a pair of shoes for the kids. And that isn’t going to happen if you read them for free on the internet.

      Older books: Gutenberg Project
      Newer books: less likely.

Yes, E-books, electronic downloads, which you can save onto your computer and read for free.

Some authors on lulu give free E-books and a new company had established authors giving away a free E-book.
